Reception Art Club
This Monday the Art Club will be working with community artists and making Litterbugs for the Chorlton Arts Festival.
The Art Club is on every Monday after school, 3.30 to 4.30. It is open to all children in Reception Year. There is a crèche for younger and older brothers and sisters and it is free, so come along and join in the fun.
Staff v Children Football Matches
The staff at Chorlton Park have held victory over the Year 6s for 8 years, alas victory is now with the Year 6 boys, the boys have worked hard as a team all season and it has paid off by beating the teachers 6-5 in an enthralling match. Congratulations to you all. Mr Woods would also like to thank Godfrey Williams for refereeing both games and Jeff Mills and Lloyd Palma for helping out and supporting the children throughout the year. It doesn’t stop there. The Year 5/6 girls team also put in a fine performance and although the final result was not to be in their favour the girls played exceptionally well against a team that should perhaps consist of fewer male teachers.
A final thank you should go to the members of staff who gave up their time during a hectic time of year.
Summer Adult Disco

Parent Meeting
The meeting on 25th April was focussed on the school’s homework policy. This was prompted by a letter from a parent who was concerned that their child was receiving too much homework, which was detracting from quality family time.
Other parents sent letters stating that we should produce more homework.
The parents came to the conclusion that homework should in the main be;
- Practical and open ended
- Involve a range of subjects not just Maths and English (art, history etc)
- Linked to work in school, but may not involve worksheets
- Allow for pupils to do more homework if they wished
- Not take up to much family time
- Investigate homework clubs
As you can see this issue will require further discussion and a change to our school policy.
We hope to come back to parents with suggestions at the next meeting. We will inform parents of the date as soon as possible.
Thanks to all the parents that attended the meeting.
Year 6 SATs
Please help us to prepare your children for their SATs by making sure they get a reasonable amount of sleep, a good breakfast and arrive early for school.
Toast and drinks will be available in school for Year 6 children and the door will be open from 8.30am.
Nursery News
Nursery Number of the week is ……10
There are still a few Nursery Stay and Play places left and we will do doing activities connected to the Out of Africa theme.
