More success for Chorlton Park.

The school recently submitted a bid to Creative Partnerships for some funding to make learning an even more creative experience for our children.  The bid was for £15,000 to which the school has agreed to allocate a further £5,000.

We are delighted to say that we were successful with the bid and so every child should reap the benefits of the injection of such a large amount of money to support teachers in delivering an even more exciting curriculum.

Greater Manchester Film Festival 2008

Faye Barnes, Samuel Gillespie, Miraj Hossain, Nancy Marrs, D’jaleh McCrystal and Bill Wood in Year 6 were busy making a film around Easter time.  They worked incredibly hard and completed it without any help, including the script and the editing.  They made an excellent job of their film, proving just how capable 11 year olds can be.  There were nineteen films entered and unfortunately they didn’t win but they would be very ready to testify how much they enjoyed the process and learnt from it.  A big well done to them! The film can be seen on the new “Films” page on the school website.

Sponsorship Money

Some money is still outstanding.  Please can you bring any more money in next week so that the final amount can be calculated.  Thank you.

School clothing for sport and PPA

The pupils at Chorlton Park Primary have a long tradition of proudly wearing the school uniform.

Increased sport

Parents will be aware that we have increased the amount of sport that we do in school and that often means that pupils are outside. During the winter months, mud is often brought into school on dirty trainers. I am aware that parents will start thinking about uniforms and clothing for September, therefore I have outlined our expectations.

Outdoor /cold weather

Tracksuit /jogging bottoms/jumper (not expensive).  A separate pair of trainers for outdoor activities

Indoor/ warm weather

White T shirt, black shorts, pumps or trainers

Please do not wear

Football shirts, jeans, expensive /designer clothing

We are unable to provide insurance for clothing that goes missing.

From September

We do want to encourage our pupils to participate in sport, including outdoors. However, we do not want parents to spend lots of money on expensive or designer clothing for school. Simple t shirts, tracksuits and trainers will be fine, particularly as these items may get muddy.
