For more information about how we teach maths please visit our school web site www.chorltonpark.manchester.sch.uk and look under school films to watch a film explaining how we teach maths.

Please make a special effort to ensure that your child arrives on time to avoid them missing the start of the day.

Parking at the front of school: we will be taking photographs of cars that are illegally parked and passing onto authorities.

Chorlton Park Dinners

Thank you to all the positive feedback we got during the Parents Consultations Week about the school dinner tasting sessions.  Lots of parents had the opportunity to find out more about what we offer and some even shared favourite recipes from home which we will be trying on the menu after half term.  We welcome any parent feedback and would be more than happy to meet with parents about the menus.

A big thank you has to go to the catering team who after feeding the school have gone on to produce a really good selection of tasters for parents after school.  They did a really good job.

Letters about the Christmas Dinner will go out after half term.

Governors Parent Partnership Group

We are keen to hear what YOU think about communication within school, particularly around what your child is learning and doing in school.

On Thursday 6th Nov at the end of the school day, some of the Parent Governors will be in the playground conducting an informal survey.

There will also be an opportunity for you to come along to a drop-in session to share some of your views on Thursday 13th November between 9am and 10am

For those of you who are unable to get into school, the questions will also be put onto the school website.

We look forward to hearing your responses!

Fire Evacutation

A reminder about fire evacuations that happen at home-time.  An evacuation at any time of the day must follow the fire evacuation procedures, where children and teachers:

  • leave the building by the designated route
  • do not stop to collect any belongings
  • do not re-enter the building
  • assemble in park (nursery children in nursery garden)

We are holding our fire drills at challenging times of the day to ensure children are confident during a real evacuation under all circumstances. We are planning a home time fire drill in the new term for this reason.  Please remember the points above.

Nursery News

Colour of the week is Purple next week.  The 6 week Play Bag session has now finished until next year when the children who started in September will have their turn.  Those children who did start in September will receive an activity pack during Stay and Play week after half-term.  Art activities run for 6 weeks in the 2nd part of the Autumn Term.  If you are the parent of one of the September in-take and can’t attend Stay and Play please contact a Nursery staff member who can explain the activities to you.

Stay and Play sessions take place on Tuesday 4th November to Friday 7th November from 9am to 10.30am.  This is an ideal opportunity for you to experience part of your child’s school day.  At the end of each session parents of September in-take children will be drawn out to receive Activity packs from Nursery Staff.  All parents of Nursery children are invited to come to Stay and Play – please sign up on the sheets in Oak and Acorn Rooms.  We would like everyone to come in as brightly dressed as possible on Friday to celebrate the end of a busy but happy half term.  On Friday afternoon both Nurseries will share some time together because they’ve settled so well since September.
