Reminder about Parking

Please can you not park in front of the school at the beginning and end of the day.  This is causing considerable difficultly to the older children who are going to and from school on their own.  Particularly the parking across the pavement and road is extremely dangerous to our children and other pedestrians.  Please be more thoughtful to others and park and stride.

Measles in School

April 3rd, 2009 by scannali and

3rd April 2009

Measles in School

We have been informed by the Health Protection Agency (public health) that a child who attends this school has measles.

On the advice of Manchester Primary Care Trust and the Health Protection Agency we would like to advise parents that there are two very important things that you can do to help prevent measles in your child.

Firstly it is very important that your child has had two doses of MMR. If you think your child has not had the MMR vaccine or they have only had one dose, please contact your GP as soon as possible.

Secondly, if your child is unwell with symptoms suggestive of measles they should not be in school. Please see the enclosed leaflet, which explains the things to look out for.

The leaflet has information about what you should do if you think your child has measles. If you think your child needs to be seen by a doctor please telephone your GP surgery before you take your child to the surgery – this is because measles is very infectious and your doctor may want to make special arrangements for your child to be seen.

If you and your doctor think your child may have measles please let the school know as well.

You can get further information on measles from NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 or www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk and look up measles

Yours sincerely

Mr Watson
Headteacher

Measles Letter

A letter has gone home today about a child in school having measles, if you haven’t received this letter please see the school website:

www.chorltonpark.manchester.sch.uk

Hopefully you came along to the PTA Easter Eggstravaganza after school yesterday – a good opportunity to let you know what the PTA’s all about. We’ve got lots planned for next term including the Mela Evening and the Summer Fair. We’ve also been spending our hard-earned cash recently: £400 on four new Gazebos for outdoor events; £200 on sustainable development workshops for year 2;

£100 on compost bins to recycle our fruit and veg left-overs for the allotment.

These requests came from both staff and parents and we’ve got more money to spend. So if you need cash for a school project or equipment, you can apply for PTA funds by picking up a form at the school office. Have a lovely Easter.
