The Caribbean Evening is on 25th June and tickets will go on sale at the beginning of the new term.

Year 5 Taster Morning at Chorlton High

Chorlton Young Musician of the Year

Well done to Jonah Gourlay who won the primary category of Chorlton Young Musician of the year on Wednesday night.  Congratulations!

Dinner Money

Thank you to all the parents who pay their dinner money on time and in advance.  Unfortunately we still have a few parents who have a lot of debt.  Can we please remind you that dinner money must be paid weekly or in advance.

PTA AGM

Tuesday 9th June

7.30pm onwards (feel free to be late)

Infant Hall

If you can manage to make just one PTA meeting this year, the AGM is one to come to. It would be so good to see some new faces. We’ll report on all we’ve achieved and all we’ve yet to do, listen to your thoughts and ideas, and we’ll be voting in a new committee: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and General Committee Members.

Whether you’re up for a more challenging role or would rather be a bit more behind-the-scenes, there’s a place for you in the PTA. Why not share a role? A small commitment from you can make a big difference to our school and our children. Maybe you could join the Dad’s who pretend to be world-class goal-keepers every year at the summer fair, or you’re a demon with a broom and can spare ten minutes at the end of discos, or you have a hotline to Santa and can help him collect presents for the children.

Dates to Remember:
Mon 25th May Half Term
Mon 1st June Return to school
Fri 5th June 6RH to Trinity CLC
Tue 9th June Year 2 Trip to the Royal Exchange
Thu 11th June Year 2 Trip to the Royal Exchange
Fri 12th June 6MG to Trinity CLC
Tue 23rd June Year 1 Trip to Blue Planet
Year 5 Chorlton High Taster
Thu 25th June Nursery Trip to Knowsley Safari Park

Nursery News

Art activities and Number of the week have now finished.  However, because of the enthusiastic response to these activities we have decided to give you a theme each week to work on with your child if you wish.  In preparation for the safari park trip we would like you to draw, make or find pictures of LAND ANIMALS.

The trip is on 25th June.  Please remember to bring your consent forms back as these are very important.  On the day of the trip packed lunches will only be provided for children who have Free School Meals.  If you pay for dinners you will need to provide a packed lunch yourself.

In the next few weeks we will be holding a reward assembly for all families who completed activities relating to Activity Packs over the year.  There will also be a visit from the Library Service in the hall to which you will be invited.

We hope you have a lovely Half Term and we look forward to seeing you in June!

Or maybe you can spare just an hour a month to come to a meeting and help us make decisions. Whatever you can do, your PTA needs you.

If you’d like to get involved in the committee, please contact one of the existing members, or drop your details into the office. Ideally, we need to know about you before the meeting.

David Fox (Chair): 881 0945 joshellafox@hotmail.com

Mel Horton: mel@rhythmandrhyme.co.uk

Angela Keane:  a.keane@sheffield.ac.uk

Rebecca Howard:  r.howard5800@ntlworld.com

Farhana Vohra: farhanavohra@hotmail.com

(Farhana speaks English/Urdu/Panjabi/Hindi and Gujarati)

Note: drinks and nibbles will be served at the meeting as a bribe nice gesture.

Here’s a short quiz:

Q. What does AGM stand for?

     (a) Annual Gnome Meeting

     (b) Annual Groan Meeting

     (c) Annual General Meeting

A. (c) (But I’d rather go to the first one)

Parking Outside School

We will be taking part in a National Walk to school Campaign on the week beginning 18th May. We are encouraging all our parents to leave their cars at home, save petrol and money, save the environment, get healthy and walk to school with their children.  Also, I have been informed that the City Council are taking the issue of
parking on our zig-zag lines and the pavement outside school very seriously. It is dangerous and I know that a minority of our parents are the ones who are ignoring our advice. I do think that a serious accident will occur soon if you keep ignoring our pleas. So, during the week beginning 18th May we have asked the council to support our campaign by sending a Parking Civil Enforcement Officer to ensure no one parks, even for a minute, where they are not supposed to.

If you are caught by the traffic enforcement officers between 18th – 22nd May 09, they will be taking a picture of your vehicle, tracing the owner
and sending you a warning letter by post. If this does not stop you parking on our zig-zags then in future you may get a fine. Please, please,
please help us to ensure the safety of every child that comes to our school.
