This week our children achieved an overall percentage of 96% (Nursery not included). 

Manchester Swimming Gala

Well done to all the children in Years 4, 5 and 6 who took part in the Manchester Schools Swimming Gala.  It was a great event.

Good luck to the children who have got through to the final which will be held at the Aquatics Centre on Sunday 10^th May.

Sports Day for Years 3-6

Tuesday 19^th May

9.30 – 11.30 and parents are invited to come and support the children in their events.

Please try and send your child in with a t-shirt / top which matches the house they are in

Tower – Red

Warwick – Green

Cardiff – Blue

Edinburgh – Yellow.

SATs Week for Year 6

Don’t forget its SATs week next week, please make sure your child has a relaxing and restful weekend and are in school by 8.45 at the latest. 

There will be a Year 6 Breakfast Club running all week from 8.30 to encourage children to come in early and relax before the start of the day.

The closing date for purchasing Class Photos is 12^th May. 

Sainsburys Vouchers

Thanks for all the vouchers you have collected we have been overwhelmed.  We will let you know what equipment we redeem the vouchers for in a later newsletter.

Mela Evening

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the planning of the Mela Evening on Thursday night.  Everyone there really enjoyed the evening.

Nursery News

Out next number of the week is 4.  Thank you for the lovely surprises in a box that you sent in for the Art Activity this week.  Next week, could you make something to do with number 4?  Maybe an animal with 4 legs, or a car, or are you four?

You should have received a letter about the school trip on 25^th June.  Please see a member of staff if you have not had a letter yet.  Remember to return the reply slips child to participate on the day.

Finally, as the weather is still changeable, could you make sure that you send a light coat in each day for the outdoor play.

Lost Property

Emily Kennedy lost a shoe at Grassroots this week.  It is a black Clarks shoe, size 13.  If anyone has come across it please let us know at the office.

Flora Cooking with Schools Vouchers

We are starting a year 3/4 cooking club and are starting to collect Flora Cooking With Schools vouchers (initially for resources for the club but also for classes to use).

Please let family and friends know.

Webster Stratton Parenting Course

The course reunion and refresher course went really well last week with lots of positive feedback.  Nearer the end of term we are starting planning a new course for September.  If there is anyone out there who is interested in the course and want to find out more please see Mrs Gilmore or Mr Almond.

Coffee Morning and Afternoon

Come along and join our Parent Support Advisor Ian Depeiaza for coffee on Thursday 21^st May 2009 at 9-10am or at 2.30-3.20pm in the COSH room to find out more about his role in school and what he can do for you.

Swine Flu Pandemic Update

As you have probably seen or heard on the News, several schools have had to close due to the outbreak of Swine Flu.  We have been asked by the government to put in place a plan in the event that the school needs to be closed. At this moment  in time there is no cause for concern.

Lunch Menu

From Monday we are on week 1 of the Menus, which are available on the website.

Year 5 Slavery Assembly

Please come and see your children perform drumming, dancing and multi-media presentations on Wednesday 20^th May at 9.15am.

Year 5 Perform the Tempest

The children will be performing the Tempest on Monday 18^th May at the Blue Box Theatre.  All children taking part will rehearse during the day at Chorlton High School, and will need a packed lunch.

 
PTA Meeting

There is a PTA Meeting this Thursday 14th May at 7.30pm in the Infant Hall.  It would be great if you can come along.  New faces welcome!

There are still spaces on all after school clubs.  If you would like your child to join a club, please enquire at the School Reception. As a reminder the after school clubs are:
