Healthy schools update

Snacks

Could we please remind you that we are a Healthy School and playtime snacks should be fruit / vegetables. Fruity Friday takes place each week for KS2  children who can buy a piece of fruit for 20p

Water

We encourage the children to bring water into school to drink throughout the day. Please could you make sure that it is plain and not flavoured. Thank you

Birthday treats

As a Healthy School we are trying to encourage our children to eat less sugar and are looking at creative ways to celebrate birthdays in school. At the moment, the majority of children bring in sweets to share with the class, and whilst we recognise that a treat is ok sometimes, we are challenging the children, through the school council, to see what other interesting treats that could be brought in that may be a little kinder to their teeth! Some suggestions from the children so far have been, fruit, pencils, rubbers, a small (cheap) game that could be used at wet play or even a class book. Watch this space for more information from the School Council.

News for 2nd September

September 3rd, 2009 by scannali and

 Welcome to the School

We would like to welcome a new teacher to the Year 5 team in September.  Mrs S Khan will be class teaching in Year 5.  Ms Wray will continue to teach in both Years 5 and Year 6, but will also be developing an exciting new multi-media curriculum.

School Improvements

This summer we have completed the refurbishment of the toilets in the main building to include a disabled toilet.

You may have also noticed that at the end of the summer term we had a stair lift fitted between the dining hall and the ground floor corridor to improve access.

We have redecorated R2 and 2JS and parts of all of the Year 1 and 2 classrooms as well as R3.  Some of these rooms were finished late in the summer which is why some of the classrooms look a little bare.

Blogging Award

The school won some prizes in a blogging award from the National Primary School Blog Championships.  The judges were very impressed by the schools voting and would like to extend their thanks to parents and everyone else involved.

School Dinner Money

Dinner Money remains the same as this year; £1.80 per day; £9.00 per week.

1st Autumn Half Term to October – £68.40

Full Autumn Term to December – £131.40

Congratulations to Michael Irvine (6JG) who has been working really hard all summer on his Martial Arts and passed his Dan Test and is now a Black Belt.
