Attendance Figures Week Ending 6th October
This week our children achieved an overall percentage of 94% (Nursery not included).
Punctuality We have seen a lot of families make that extra effort to get into school on time and this has improved throughout the week.
However we still have too many children who have been regularly late this week. If you have been late this week please make that extra effort to be on time everyday next week.
Creative Skills for working with children. Anyone interested in working as a volunteer, come in and see us in the Community Room on Tuesday 17th November at 9am.
Home / School Computer Project The school has been given a class set of palm top computers. We are really excited because we have decided to send them home with children so that they can learn more at home with their families.
5MW are the first to experience this fantastic new technology. We are hoping that other children will be able to take them home. Martha and Bethan from 5MW said “It is a fun way to learn at home and we think everyone should get a chance to use them.”
By Martha and Bethan from 5MW.
After Half Term we will be on Lunch menu 3.
Children in Need Next Friday, 20th November is Children in Need day and Nursery to Year 2 children are welcome to Wear Something Different, for a small donation of just 50p.

Year 6 WW2 Assembly On Thursday Year 6 did an assembly about World War 2. We put our effort in to it when we only had a week and a few days to do it. The big question was how did evacuation effect children in Chorlton Park?
The children and teachers worked really hard on this play. It was a mammoth task but we worked hard work with determination, 6RH also wrote a song called Imagine, it’s about remembering all the people who died in war.
Thomas and Edith, introduced every part of the play we hope you enjoyed them as much as other people did and we hope you enjoyed our wonderful singers, backing singers, actors, dancers and readers. Everyone did a super job and we hope you thought so as well. Also a special thanks to the Parents for coming and watching the play.

Reception Meeting Parents and Carers of children going into Reception in January are invited to a meeting on Thursday 10th December at 2pm.
A Big Thank On behalf of the parents and carers of children in Year 6 who went on the residential, we’d like to say a big thank-you to all the staff for making sure our kids had a fantastic and memorable experience at Ghyll Head. At Chorlton Park we are very fortunate to have teaching staff that are prepared to give up their time for the benefit of their pupils, something not all primary school children experience. All reports suggest it was cold and wet but lots of fun! Much appreciated.
Nursery News Book bags need to be returned to school on Monday so that we can check books and re-stock our libraries.
We do not have a colour for next week because we will have a Spotty Table. Can you find something spotty to bring in for us?
For Children in Need on Friday we will be pretending to be feeling unwell and having a pyjama day in school. We will all be coming to school in pyjamas and bring in a small donation for Children in Need. Your child will need to wear suitable footwear for playing outside and need warm clothes such as tights or shorts under their pyjamas. We will be using face paints to create spotty faces for ourselves and the staff will check with you to see if it is permittable to include your child in this activity. It should be fun but everyone watch out for mapping teachers!!
Thank you to everyone who has returned the slips for the final Forest School Group of this year. WE appreciated your quick response. All the children who will be moving into Reception classes will have visited by the time we break up in December. Groups of children who started in September will start visiting Paupers Wood in January. Thank you – Nursery Staff. |
